Helen Jeys, head mistress of Manchester High School for Girls, has become a full member of The HMC (The Heads’ Conference)
The school will now join a 154-year-old global network of head teachers and schools, following a rigorous application process.
The school said in a statement: “As a proud existing and continuing member of the Girls Schools’ Association, this new accreditation enables MHSG to benefit from the very best support and insight on a local, national and international level across multiple educational networks.”
The HMC (The Heads’ Conference) was founded in 1869 as the world’s first association for heads and currently consists of more than 300 UK members and a further 50 across the globe.
Head mistress Helen Jeys, said: “I am delighted to say that I am now a member of HMC, which means MHSG can benefit from being part of an organisation that prides itself on being a kitemark of global quality, innovation and excellence in education.”
Earlier in May, the school was visited by HMC representatives, who met with staff, spoke with pupils and observed lessons as part of a rigorous accreditation process.
Mrs Jeys added: “As a member, we now join other leading UK independent schools that are equally committed to the future of education. We are delighted that MHSG has received this prestigious accreditation.”
