Kensington Wade Chinese-English bilingual school has announced the appointment of Huw May as its new head, starting from September this year.
Mr May is joining the London school from Eaton House Belgravia where he is head of school.
Mr May, a former professional classical singer, grew up in a bilingual school setting in Wales and has first-hand experience of bilingualism.
He has been a head within the Eaton House Schools group for the past ten years and was previously head of Roedean Junior School and Sydenham High School Prep (part of the Girls’ Day School Trust).
Kensington Wade said Mr May has “an exemplary track record in the preparation of pupils for entry to the country’s best senior schools, having extensive contacts and relationships in the senior school market.”
He is also an experienced ISI inspector. Prior to his career in independent school education, Mr May trained and worked as a professional classical singer at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
He is expected to expand and develop the musical life of the school.
Mr May commented: “I am excited to be leading Kensington Wade, building on the superb achievements of my predecessors, working collaboratively with the excellent teachers, the governing and executive body and parents.”
