Staff and pupils at Cransley School had a visit from Princess Anne, who dropped off at the school on her way to an event at a nearby sailing club.
The Princess Royal took time to meet up with members of the school on the way to the 75th Anniversary of Budworth Sailing Club, after the school provided a safe landing spot for her helicopter.
Grace Martin and Jana Carney, head pupils at Cransley, offered a warm welcome to the princess and junior pupils Orson West and Niamh Joy presented her with flowers.
A spokesperson for the school in Great Budworth, Cheshire, said of the visit: “The Princess Royal’s visit to the region was not only a celebration of Budworth Sailing Club’s remarkable milestone but also an occasion that touched the hearts of everyone at Cransley School.”
Also on the day, the school celebrated the grand opening of the school’s state-of-the-art Science and Technology Centre, a significant addition to the independent school.
The Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, Lady Redmond, her husband Sir Philip Redmond, and Officer Robin Roberts officiated at the event.
The new Science and Technology Centre houses three cutting-edge science laboratories, a design and technology studio, and a food nutrition room.
A spokesperson for the school said: “The opening of the Science and Technology Centre marks a significant milestone in Cransley School’s journey towards providing a holistic and forward-thinking education.”
