Anna Paul has been appointed as the new head to replace Vicky Bingham at South Hampstead High School from this month, the school has announced.
Mrs Paul is taking over from Mrs Bingham who has moved to take the helm at North London Collegiate School this year.
Mrs Paul joins South Hampstead following eight years as senior deputy head at Godolphin & Latymer, responsible for overseeing pastoral care.
She has a degree in English Literature from Durham University and a Postgraduate Certificate of Professional Study from the University of Cambridge. She is an English teacher by background and has strong local connections, previously working at The John Lyon School and North London Collegiate School and living close to South Hampstead with her young family.
Mrs Paul said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the next head of South Hampstead High School. I feel a profound and instinctive connection with the values, spirit and ethos of the school; this innate connection is an exciting foundation for the future ahead. The pioneering nature of girls’ education at South Hampstead is an inspiration to me and it is an absolute privilege to be asked to lead a community characterised by such energy, warmth, innovation and spark.”
Mrs Paul will become South Hampstead High School’s 13th Head in 147 years; she follows Vicky Bingham, headmistress from 2017 to 2023.
