Educational Governors, Hulme Grammar School

Having undergone several transformations since it was originally founded in 1611,
HGS has recently been rebranded and has a clear strategic plan in place, so is well-
placed to enter a new and exciting phase of its rich history. With recently
appointed Heads of Senior and Junior School, the Board now seeks two new
Governors to oversee and monitor academic standards and curriculum
development, one responsible for the Senior School and one for the Prep School,
to further help establish HGS as demonstrably the best school in Oldham, and as
one of the leading schools in the north west of England.

We are looking for enthusiastic and spirited individuals with some experience of
academia, who will use their knowledge to challenge the Principal, the Head of the
Prep School, the teaching staff and the other Governors. The Board’s academic
aims are for the standard of teaching and learning to be excellent and consistent
across both Schools, for the curriculum transition from Prep to Senior Schools be
seamless and for all children to experience challenge in every lesson.
