Bromsgrove International School Thailand, Head of School

An outstanding opportunity to lead a thriving, 500 strong day and boarding international school for boys and girls aged 2-18 through its third decade, and build upon a foundation of success under ten years of the current Headmaster’s leadership.

Job Description

Four hundred and fifty years after Bromsgrove UK came into being, Bromsgrove
International School Thailand (BIST) was founded in 2002. The Ramkhamheang
Early Years campus serves children aged 2 to 7, while the Primary and Secondary
campus stands in Windsor Park Golf Club. In 2008, the first boarding house was
completed, and the first cohort of students sat the IGCSE examinations. Following
sustained growth in boarding numbers, a second boarding house opened in
February 2011.

BIST now has students from over 27 nations and 95% fully qualified British
teachers. Students’ learning is based upon the English National Curriculum leading
to IGCSE and A level (with BTEC qualifications also offered) in the Secondary school.
Great store is set by the quality of pastoral care, and the co-curricular offer as
described in the BIST Learner profile; Music, the Arts and Sport thrive in excellent
facilities. Graduates go on to study in the UK, Europe, USA, Hong Kong and other
ASEAN countries.

BIST has long been a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS), and is a
member of other organisations including the Federation of British International
Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) and Boarding Schools’ Association (BSA). Relations with
Bromsgrove UK are deep, strong, and manifest in both formal and informal
structures and arrangements.

The new Head will be kind, compassionate and inspiring, with heightened cultural
sensitivity and the ability to offer strong, unifying, visionary leadership while being
respectful of Thai culture and all that the School has achieved. BIST has no
intentions of becoming a large school, but some further growth will be possible.
Boarding experience is not essential, but the willingness to learn rapidly is.
This role will commence in August 2025, and the position comes with an
accommodation allowance and a competitive remuneration package.

Location: Thailand
Close Date: Wednesday 8 May 2024
