Dominic Norrish has been appointed as the next chief executive of the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS), the organisation has announced.
Norrish is currently chief operating officer and group director of technology at United Learning – a 70-strong schools group with both state and independent school members educating 40,000 children. He will take over from current CEO Chris King next summer.
A statement from IAPS says Norrish has worked with United Learning for the past nine years and has wide experience in marketing, HR, digital and school improvement. He has also held teaching and senior leadership positions in the maintained and independent sectors.
“Dominic was the outstanding candidate in an exceptionally strong field and I am delighted that he will be joining us as our next CEO, ” said Andrew Nott, chair of IAPS.
Norrish’s background in educational technology has meant that recent years have seen him make contributions to national policy and support during the pandemic. He is a trustee of educational charities, a qualified executive coach and also runs in marathons all over the world.
Norrish told IAPS he was: “very excited to be joining IAPS and to work alongside so many outstanding school leaders. The association’s schools are providing a world-class education for tens of thousands of children and I look forward to playing a part in helping them continue to thrive.”
