A pupil at Cottesmore prep has raised thousands of pounds for charity by producing her own book of poems and other writing.
Noreen, aged 10, has raised £46,736.23 selling copies of her book, The Short Stories Poems and Proses Collection, and proceeds will go to the Henan Charity Foundation, a flood victims charity.
She has also illustrated and edited the book herself for added authenticity.
Headmaster Tom Rogerson said: “This is a wonderful example of a young student being empowered to make her own choices and decisions to influence events and to have an impact on the world.
“She has been helped to recognise that she is capable of initiating her own learning and has been encouraged to use this agency for good.
“She is an inspiration to us all at Cottesmore and I am hoping that she will also be an inspiration to everyone who hears about her creative and charitable endeavours.”
Mr Rogerson added that Noreen is a “wonderful artist” and had created the book on her own.
